You can configure email setup either automatically or manually. You have to know the server settings if you want to configure your email account manually.

Below are the server details of the MAIL.COM email account.

Incoming mail server details for MAIL.COM

  • Account type - POP or IMAP
  • Server name - (POP) or (IMAP)
  • Port - 995 (POP) or 993 (IMAP)
  • SSL required - Yes

Outgoing mail server details for MAIL.COM

  • Account type - SMTP
  • Server name -
  • Port - 587
  • SSL required - No

Manual setup of the MAIL.COM email account in Windows Live Mail

Step 1

  • First, launch the Windows Live Mail client on your computer.

Step 2

  • Click the Accounts tab followed by the Email button.

Step 3

  • Step 1:Type the MAIL.COM account’s email address in the Email Address field.
  • Step 2:Enter your MAIL.COM account’s password in the Password field.
  • Step 3:If you want to save the email account password in the Windows Live Mail application, select the Remember this password checkbox.
  • Step 4:Type your name in the Display name for your sent messages field.
  • Step 6:Select the checkbox beside the Manually configure the email setup and server settings option.
  • Step 7:Click the Next button at the bottom.

Step 4


  • Step 1:Choose POP from the Server Type drop-down menu.
  • Step 2:Type in the Server Address field.
  • Step 3:Enter 995 in the Port field.
  • Step 4:Select Clear Text from the Authentication drop-down menu.
  • Step 5:In the Logon user name field, type the MAIL.COM email address.


  • Step 1:Enter in the Server Address field.
  • Step 2:Select the following options.
  • Step 3:Requires a secure connection
  • Step 4:Requires authentication
  • Step 5:Once done with configuring the server settings, click the Next button.

Step 5

  • Step 1:After setting up the MAIL.COM email account, click the Finish button.
  • Step 2:You can access the MAIL.COM emails from the Windows Live Mail application.

Manual setup of the MAIL.COM email account in Outlook 2010

Step 1

  • Launch the Outlook 2010 email client on your computer and configure email setup.

Step 2

  • Step 1:Click the File tab.
  • Step 2:Select the Info option in the left panel.
  • Step 3:In the main panel, click the Add Account button.

Step 3

  • On the Add New Account screen, select the Manually configure server settings or additional server types radio button. Click Next.

Step 4

  • When the Choose Service window opens, select the Internet Email radio button and click Next.

Step 5

User Information

  • Step 1:Your name - Your display name
  • Step 2:Email address - Your MAIL.COM email address to get email setup.

Server information

  • Step 1:Account type - POP3
  • Step 2:Incoming mail server -
  • Step 3:Outgoing mail server (SMTP) -

Logon information 

  • Step 1:User name - Your MAIL.COM email address
  • Step 2:Password - Your MAIL.COM password

Test account settings

  • Select or deselect the Test Account Settings by clicking the Next button option.

Deliver new messages to

  • Step 1:Select the New Outlook Data file radio button.
  • Step 2:To configure the port settings, click the More Settings button.

Step 6

Outgoing server

  • Step 1:Checkmark the box next to the My outgoing server requires authentication option.
  • Step 2:Select the Use same server settings as my incoming mail server radio button after the configuration of email setup.


  • Step 1:Incoming server (POP3) - 995
  • Step 2:Select the checkbox beside This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).
  • Step 3:Outgoing server (SMTP) - 587
  • Step 4:Choose TLS from the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop-down menu.
  • Step 5:If necessary, select the checkbox beside the Leave a copy of messages on the server option.
  • Step 6:Click OK in the Internet Email Settings window.

Step 7

  • On the Add New Account screen, click the Next button.

Step 8

  • Step 1:After the MAIL.COM email account configuration, select Finish.
  • Step 2:You can send/receive MAIL.COM emails in the Outlook 2010 email client.

Automatic setup of the MAIL.COM email account in Thunderbird

Step 1

  • Open the Mozilla Thunderbird email client on your computer.

Step 2

  • Step 1:Click Local Folders in the left panel.
  • Step 2:In the main panel, navigate to the Accounts section, click Email.

Step 3

  • When the Welcome to Thunderbird window opens, select Skip this and use my existing email.

Step 4

  • Step 1:Enter the MAIL.COM email account details as given below to configure email setup.
  • Step 2:Your name - Your full name (that you want to show while sending messages)
  • Step 3:Email address - Your MAIL.COM email address
  • Step 4:Password - Your MAIL.COM email account password
  • Step 5:If needed, select Remember Password. Click Continue.

Step 5

  • Step 1:Select POP3 (keep mail on your computer)
  • Step 2:Note: POP3 is available to MAIL.COM premium customers.
  • Step 3:ClickDone to finish the MAIL.COM email setup.

Your MAIL.COM email account has now been added to the Thunderbird email client.

Manual setup of the MAIL.COM email account in Apple Mail (macOS X 10.8.5)

Step 1

  • Step 1:On your Mac computer’s home screen, navigate to the menu bar and click the Mail tab.
  • Step 2:Select the Preferences option.

Step 2

  • Click the Accounts tab followed by the Add icon.

Step 3

  • Step 1:Provide the details as given below.
  • Step 2:Full name - Your name
  • Step 3:Email address - Your MAIL.COM email address
  • Step 4:Password - Your MAIL.COM email account’s password
  • Step 5:Hold the Alt key and click the Continue button at the same time.

Step 4

Incoming mail server

  • Step 1:Account type - POP
  • Step 2:Incoming mail server -
  • Step 3:User name - Your MAIL.COM email address
  • Step 4:Password - Your email password

Outgoing mail server

  • Step 1:Outgoing mail server -
  • Step 2:Select the options given below.
  • Step 3:Use only this server
  • Step 4:Use Authentication
  • Step 5:Enter the MAIl.COM email address and password in the User Name and Password fields, respectively.
  • Click Continue.

Step 5

  • Step 1:Check if all the information you have entered are correct.
  • Step 2:Deselect the Take account online checkbox and click Create in the Account Summary window.

Your email setup has been configured successfully.
